GTA 6 Standard Edition vs Ultimate Edition — Full Comparison for Indian Gamers: Is the ₹1,500 Upgrade Worth It?

The Two Options for Indian Gamers

GTA 6 comes in exactly two editions — no collector's edition, no SteelBook, no middle tier. The Standard Edition is ₹5,999 in India, and the Ultimate Edition is ₹7,499. That is a ₹1,500 difference. The question is whether what you get for that extra ₹1,500 is actually worth it for most Indian gamers. Here is the full, honest breakdown.

What Both Editions Include

Both editions include the full GTA 6 story campaign — all of Jason and Lucia's complete single-player story with no chapters or missions withheld from Standard Edition buyers. Both editions include the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus — the 1955 Vapid Stanier, Shore Court Garage, retro outfits for both protagonists, and the Tommy Vercetti weapon pattern. Both editions include the free month of GTA+ with digital pre-orders. Both editions get access to pre-loading from November 12. In other words, the complete story experience is identical in both editions.

What Only the Ultimate Edition Gets

The Ultimate Edition's exclusive content breaks into three categories. First, six premium vehicles including the Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a Crest Kayak, a Vapid Ganado pickup, a paradiso boat, and two additional vehicles. Second, access to five exclusive in-game shops — Rideout Customs vehicle mod shop, One-Eyed Willie's off-road mod shop, Sara's Unisex Salon for hairstyles and makeup, Stock 305 streetwear clothing store, and Electric Fang Tattoo with over 50 exclusive designs for both characters. Third, two exclusive side missions including the PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store Mission and the Classic Car Collection Commission. Plus a gang compound and additional cosmetic outfit sets.

The Honest Verdict for Most Indian Gamers

For the majority of Indian GTA fans, the Standard Edition at ₹5,999 is the right choice. Here is why. The complete story is identical. The pre-order bonus is identical. The locked shops are all cosmetic — you can still get haircuts, tattoos, and car modifications at other locations across Leonida, just not at these specific Ultimate Edition shops. The two locked side missions are additional content but not story-critical. And crucially, you can upgrade from Standard to Ultimate at any time after launch, so if you play the game and decide you want the extra shops, the ₹1,500 upgrade will still be available.

When the Ultimate Edition Makes Sense

The Ultimate Edition is worth the extra ₹1,500 if you care deeply about character customization from day one — the exclusive hairstyles, tattoos, streetwear, and donk vehicle modifications are genuinely the most substantial content locked behind the paywall. If you plan to spend significant time on Jason and Lucia's looks throughout the story, having Rideout Customs and Sara's Salon available from the start adds real value. It also makes sense if you simply want everything GTA 6 has to offer on day one without thinking about upgrades later.

What This Means for Indian GTA Fans

At ₹5,999, the Standard Edition of GTA 6 is genuinely good value for what is widely expected to be a 40 to 60 hour single-player experience plus eventual GTA Online access. The ₹7,499 Ultimate Edition adds meaningful customization depth but nothing that affects the story experience itself. Our recommendation for most Indian players: start with Standard Edition, play the game, and upgrade later if the locked shops bother you. You lose nothing by waiting.

My Take

The Standard Edition is the right call for 80% of players. The Ultimate Edition is genuinely worth it if character customization is important to your GTA experience — the exclusive tattoos, donk builds, and hairstyle options are substantial and will be visible throughout hundreds of hours of gameplay. But nobody should feel pressured into spending ₹7,499 when ₹5,999 gives you the complete story Rockstar spent 13 years building. The game is the game. The shops are the extras.
