Take-Two calls pre-orders unprecedented — stock for physical Collector's items (if announced) will sell out. Standard digital will not sell out, so never pay a premium for a digital code.
Where to pre-order
PS5: PlayStation Store (search Grand Theft Auto VI). Xbox: Microsoft Store. India physical: Games The Shop, Croma, Vijay Sales, Flipkart and Amazon India from trusted sellers. Avoid Instagram/Telegram sellers and key-resellers.
US physical: Best Buy, Walmart, Target, GameStop. Buy for store pickup on Nov 19 to avoid shipping delays.
Pre-order bonuses
Expect Online starter bonuses and early cosmetic packs — not story missions. Ultimate Edition bonuses are Online cash and vehicles. No retailer has an exclusive story mission confirmed.
If a store advertises exclusive story DLC, it is misleading marketing. Bonuses are cosmetic/Online only.
Refunds and cancellations
PS Store: refund before download/pre-load, or within 14 days if untouched. Xbox: similar pre-download window. Indian physical: cancel before dispatch for full refund; after dispatch you pay return shipping.
Pre-order digital late (early November) if you are unsure — you still get pre-load and avoid locking money for months.
Pre-load and launch night
Digital pre-orders pre-load around Nov 12. Keep 250GB free, use LAN, update firmware. India unlocks 4:30 AM IST Nov 20 — see our release-date guide for the full timeline.
Physical buyers: pick up Nov 19 morning, install immediately, download the day-one patch before midnight to play at unlock.
