Recent discoveries in the PlayStation Store database briefly sparked excitement among fans who believed Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders and pricing details could be revealed soon.
Dataminers previously discovered internal title identifiers connected to GTA 6 within Sony's backend systems. These identifiers are commonly created when publishers begin preparing a game's digital store page ahead of pre-orders.
The discovery quickly spread across gaming communities, with many players believing that Rockstar Games was getting ready to open pre-orders for the highly anticipated title.
However, the situation changed shortly afterward. According to reports from dataminers tracking PlayStation Store activity, the GTA 6 identifiers were later removed from the database by Rockstar.
Some users had also found ways to exploit the identifiers so that GTA 6 appeared in their "recently played" sections on gaming profiles, despite the game not being available yet. Once the identifiers were taken down, those listings disappeared from player accounts as well.
While the removal of the database entries disappointed fans hoping for immediate pre-order news, analysts believe it does not affect Rockstar's overall development timeline or release plans.
Grand Theft Auto VI remains one of the most anticipated games in history, and Rockstar continues to keep official details tightly controlled. The game is currently expected to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Until Rockstar officially announces pricing or pre-order details, fans will likely continue monitoring store databases and insider reports for any early signs of the next big GTA 6 update.
