Cybersecurity Alert — Fake GTA 6 Early Access Websites Are Stealing Crypto and Passwords as Pre-Orders Open

The Scams Are Already Everywhere

With GTA 6 pre-orders going live on June 25 and the world's most anticipated game just months away from release, cybersecurity experts are issuing urgent warnings about a massive surge in fraudulent activity targeting GTA 6 fans. Fake websites claiming to offer "VIP early access," playable pre-release builds, or exclusive founder packages in exchange for cryptocurrency payments have been appearing at an alarming rate across social media, Telegram, and search engine results.

What the Scams Look Like

The fraudulent campaigns take several forms. Some create convincing fake Rockstar Games websites with near-identical branding, offering "early access passes" or "beta keys" for payments in Bitcoin or Ethereum. Others pose as legitimate pre-order pages from well-known retailers, collecting payment details and PSN or Xbox login credentials before disappearing. A third category spreads through social media as fake "leaked gameplay" links that actually install malware, keyloggers, or credential-stealing software on the victim's device the moment they click.

There Is No Such Thing as Paid Early Access for GTA 6

Rockstar Games has been crystal clear — the only way to access GTA 6 is through a legitimate pre-order of the Standard Edition at $79.99 or the Ultimate Edition at $99.99 through official channels. There is no early access program, no beta, no VIP founder tier, and no legitimate way to play the game before November 19, 2026. Any website, social media account, or Telegram channel claiming otherwise is a scam, without exception.

Where to Pre-Order Safely

The only safe places to pre-order GTA 6 are the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Games Store, and verified major retailers. In India specifically, Amazon India and Flipkart are the safe physical pre-order options. Always navigate directly to these sites by typing the URL yourself — never click a pre-order link sent via WhatsApp, Telegram, or social media DM, no matter how legitimate it looks.

What This Means for Indian GTA Fans

India has one of the highest rates of gaming-related online fraud in Asia, and GTA 6's launch is the perfect storm for scammers targeting desperate fans. If you see any offer for GTA 6 early access, a playable beta, or a discounted pre-order from an unofficial source — especially one asking for cryptocurrency or your PSN login — report it and ignore it completely. Share this warning with your gaming friends on WhatsApp and Telegram groups where these scam links spread fastest. Protecting your account and your money is more important than any pre-order bonus.

My Take

This was entirely predictable. GTA 6 is the most anticipated entertainment release in history — of course it was going to attract the most sophisticated scam operations. The rule is simple: if someone is offering you something Rockstar has not officially announced, it is a scam. There is no grey area here. Pre-order only through official channels, never share your PSN or Xbox credentials, and keep your banking information off any GTA-related third-party website entirely.
